A moment alone

I close the bathroom door gently.
Turning on the faucet,
Tears stream effortlessly,
Muffled sobs.
I wash my hands,
Water still running.
Tears have no end in sight,
Water still running.
I dry my hands,
Water still running.
I wipe away the tears,
Water still running.
I take a deep breath,
Turning the water off.
I open the bathroom door gently.
I go about my day.

I wonder how many women throughout history have stood by the well, the river, in the rain or in the bathroom and given their tears permission to flow. Your words pierce my soul.

With Spring comes a new lease on life for us lucky enough to embrace it...I, for one, am going to pounce on it. Complacency is our downfall...embrace everything you can while you can!
